AXTI -5%, +1.6% AH

Raising $ 87M at $12.25/sh to increase Indium Phosphide substrate manufacturing capacity in China.

This is what they said about capacity on the last earnings call:

Data center expansion in China is quickly overtaking PON (Passive Optical Network) as the leading application in China for our indium phosphide substrates. Given the strong demand environment it is important to note that AXT is well positioned to handle increased demand. We have ample manufacturing capacity in place today, and we can also significantly increase our output by current level, and we can also add capacity quickly as needed. We also have a demonstrated ability to supply very low EPD (Etch Pit Density) wafers in volume that meet the vigorous requirements of next-generation EML and silicon photonics-based devices.

Jukan flagged more presss about Indium Phosphide bottleneck today:

IntelliEPI said limited availability of InP substrates is already constraining output across parts of the AI transmission supply chain. IntelliEPI chairman Yung Chung Kao said the imbalance reflects rapid growth in data center upgrades alongside structural limits in upstream materials.

Indium phosphide is a key material for high-speed optical components used in AI data centers, where bandwidth and power efficiency are critical. Kao said AI infrastructure has driven multifold growth in the InP market, but even capacity increases of 20% to 30% by substrate suppliers have failed to keep pace. He said the gap between supply and demand is likely to widen and may not return to balance in 2026.

ASML

AYZ published a bullish note today on TSMC, Samsung, Hynix and Rapidus demand for EUV.

AMPOC Far-East +9.3%

Almost no discussion of Ampoc on English Twitter, other than from DaBao.
